April 26: 6pm - 10pm
Vetro Glassblowing Studio & Gallery

701 S Main St, #103, Grapevine

Dallas artist Xavier Zamarripa and David Gappa with Vetro Glass Blowing Studio in Grapevine have joined artistic forces to establish one-of-a-kind wine decanters. The collaboration of artists brings an exciting exposition of hand blown glass and hand carved stone designed to enhance the experience of tasting great wines.

Two artists’ receptions featuring these exclusive wine decanters will take place this April. The collection of nearly 50 stone and glass wine decanters will be displayed at Xavier Zamarripa Gallery in Dallas April 19 (6-10pm) and at Vetro Glass Blowing Studio and Gallery in Grapevine on April 26 (6-10pm). These one-of-a-kind wine decanters will range in price from $300-$16,000 and will be available for sale on both evenings. Both receptions feature wine and hors d’ oeuvres. Live glass blowing demonstrations will take place at Vetro the night of the reception.

Form and function harmonize with these unprecedented pieces of art.

Exceptional craftsmanship.

Bold artistry beautifully executed.

  PCPC ARTS FESTIVAL

Awarded
BEST IN THEME

Congratulations to David Gappa! He was awarded “Best in Theme” at the PCPC Arts Festival 2008 juried exhibition earlier this month. The jurors were Patricia Meadows, Senior Curator and Collection Manager of the Texas Sculpture Garden, Ted Pillsbury, 18-year Kimbell Art Museum Director in Fort Worth and Dr. Pete Deison, founder of the PCPC Arts Festival.

The exhibit, whose overall theme was “Beginnings: Genesis”, was held in the Cedar Springs area of Dallas. David’s art glass piece, pictured on the right, focused specifically on the “Beginnings of Creation” theme. He designed the piece then commissioned glass artist Christian Luginger of Amarillo TX to create the lampwork portion while David and his team at Vetro created the blown and cast portions.

The PCPC Arts Festival is sponsored annually by Park Cities Presbyterian Church in an effort to reignite the passion for and awareness of original works of art based on religious and Biblical themes. As this mission attracted over 150 artists to participate and thousands to attend, it has been quite a success.
